Alamo Lodge #44, December 11, 2015
The Most Worshipful Grand Master, Wendell P. Miller travelled to San Antonio, Texas on December 11, 2015 for the traditional Alamo Observance. The group began assembling at the San Antonio Scottish Rite at 5:00 PM. We were met by the Worshipful Master of Alamo Lodge #44, Worshipful Sir Francis Michael Gollahon. After everyone registered, the Grand Master and his entourage marched from the Scottish Rite to the Alamo.
There were approximately 34 of the District Deputy Grand Masters in attendance as well as several appointed Grand Lodge Officers. Also in attendance were Right Worshipful Terry Stogner, Grand Junior Warden and Right Worshipful Tommy Chapman, Grand Senior Warden.
Alamo Lodge was opened at 7:00 PM inside the Alamo with about 150 in attendance. All Grand Lodge Officers were presented and introduced and the Grand Master was presented and received private Grand Honors from those in attendance.
Worshipful Master Gollahon presented a short program on the Alamo and Grand Master Miller gave a short talk about the state of the Craft in Texas as well as hitting on some of the high points of his programs this Masonic year.
The Lodge was closed in peace and harmony at 8:30 PM and all marched back to the Scottish Rite building. While the Masons were at the Alamo, the ladies, under the direction of the Worshipful Master’s Lady, worked on a project to make blankets for the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
Thank you, Alamo Lodge #44 and all the Texas Masons who participated in this momentous event.
