This is kind of a funny story, my mother ask me to join. My father was not allowed to ask me to join, because of Grand Lodge Law, and he was not sure how to ask me, so my mother who knew it was important to him went behind his back and talked to me about it. I was heading back to college that night, and he ask me to make a stop with him on the way out of town, which I did, they just happened to be having they monthly lodge meeting that night and before I knew what had happened, I was on my way to becoming a Mason. My father was one of the most active Masons in between Childress and Vernon, and I knew almost nothing about it. Had it not been for my mother, I would probably never have joined!
