William Patrick Lamb, of Baytown, Texas was installed as the 140th Grand Master of Texas Masons on December 2, 1978. Brother Lamb was born on May 28, 1914 in Merryville, Louisiana, and has resided in Texas since May 1920, first at Kirbyville and at Baytown since 1940.
He was an employee of the Humble Oil and Refining Company (Exxon) from 1941 to 1970 and since then has operated his own Real Estate and Insurance business.
He is married to Anna Wright and they have two children: a son, Clark Virgil Powell of Baytown and a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Gail) Stewart of Deer Park. The Lambs are members of the Central Baptist Church of Baytown.
Brother Lamb is a graduate of Kirbyville High School and attended Louisiana State Northwestern from 1932 to 1934.
His Masonic career began in 1952 when he received the Entered Apprentice degree on September 8th. The Fellowcraft degree followed on October 10th and he became a Master Mason on January 6, 1953 in Cedar Bayou Lodge No. 321 of Baytown. After serving as Junior and Senior Warden, he was Master of Cedar Bayou Lodge in 1959-1960. In 1967 he was District Deputy Grand Master of District 30-A.
He is a member of Goose Creek Chapter No. 408, R.A.M., Goose Creek Council No. 339, R. & S.M., and Kenedy Commandery No. 61, K.T., all of Baytown. He served Kenedy Commandery as Prelate 10 years and is an Honorary Commander of his Commandery.
He is a 32° Mason of the Houston Scottish Rite Bodies, a member of Arabia Shrine Temple and a Past Patron of Cedar Bayou Chapter No. 11, O.E.S. He is a member of Chinar Grotto in Houston. He was the recipient of the DeMolay Legion of Honor. He was honored with the investiture of KCCH and he is also a member of the Texas Lodge of Research.
